News From Mikel: 4/18/2024 – I am trying to make a few changes here at the website. All for the good. Please excuse occasional construction pages. We aren’t adding advertising and the content will remain the same. One of the things I am looking at is to create a way for visitors to the site to become a part of a history hunt, a search for lost U.P. History. Old photographs, stories, histories, help us hunt down the past so it can be preserved and shared. More on this as we move forward into the past.
This will coincide with the launch of a new series of lower priced books called the Yooper History Hunter Series and will be a collection of history and finding the history in the book as a road trip. Full color and about 40 pages takes the reader on an adventure to the past and present. Keep watching the site as we move forward into another dimension of U.P. History. The first offering will be: Victoria, a Copper Mining Ghost Town, followed by: Grand Island, Furs, Folly and Fun.
